Regenbogen Parade, June 26, 2004

It's summer.. It's June... It's GAY PARADE time!!!! This year it's on June 26. I didn't want to miss any of it... But alas, I received a phone-call from my boss telling me that there was some emergency matters to be dealt with. So I only stayed for a bit, I didn't walk to the end at Museumsquartier. So I guess I missed a lot. But I did see the beginning. So I guess it's not that bad :) Not like I'd die from not seeing the whole parade! LoL

So, first of all... What is Gay Parade? Well, the official name is actually Regenbogen Parade, that's German. Regenbogen means Rainbow or Pelangi (hehe) I'm not really sure why it's called Regenbogen Parade, maybe just to avoid it sounding too offensive. I mean, Gay Parade would sound very very provocating, duncha think?

Right... and I guess u guys can judge from the name what it's all about, can't u? :D Yesh!!! It's a parade for gay people, not only homos but also lesbians (although there are usually more homos participating than the lesbians) wearing incredible outfits and if possible as minimum as possible, and also doing the craziest act possible in front of lots of people, possibly the whole of Vienna, since the parade takes place on the Ring Road... Just about the center of Vienna.
